Chinese Lattice, or Black and White Cobbles

Showing 2 patterns in Black and White cobblestone.

A close-up view of a black and white cobblestone pattern, showcasing linear curves made from rectangular cobbles with well-defined edges and a consistent surface finish.

These are rectangular cobbles finished with shot-blasting. Edges are well-defined. And the surface is finished to a consistent level.

Here’s the second pattern in contrast to the above one.

Circular pattern of black and white cobblestones arranged in concentric circles, showcasing well-defined edges and a smooth surface.

Yessss, creating Chinese Lattice with cobblestone is doable. And doesn’t that look amazing! The first one is linear long curves. The second one is angular and intricate.

Does your project have the space, the imagination and the hands to for such beautiful patterns?

Robot-age Cobbles

Do they look like robot-age cobbles? 😀

We can credit the person who took this picture.

A close-up view of newly installed Kota Stone cobbles, showcasing their classic colors and machine-cut edges, with a partially filled orange bucket visible in the foreground.

These aren’t black, in case that’s how the pic shows to your eyes.

These are the classic ever-pleasing colors of Kota Stone cobbles. Machine-cut edges. And very good quality natural-feeling surface finish done at K. K. Stones Ahmedabad.

Would be interesting to see when the work gets over.

Do you have a project and an expanse that would look great with such cobbles? Do let us know.

2 more patterns with Cobblestone

It feels like small sized stone bring an endless stimulation. An perennial trigger to imagine things.

Look at this pattern.

There are 4 colors and the cobbles are well-sorted based on the colors. The patterns in paving make interesting use alternating colors. Pic of work in progress, it would be interesting to see how it looks at the end.

Fascinating! How are you shaping your project? Would cobble patterns make your project interesting?

Paving Pattern at a Resort in Udaipur

I like curves and curvy patterns in landscaping. Now have a look at this paving pattern of cobbles at this resort in Udaipur that we supplied to.

This feels like folds, or layer-over-layer. Nicely done.

Black Flowers!

Natural Stone, in its default shape and condition, is a product of ‘creativity’. We do certain things to make it suitable for our purposes like landscaping, indoor flooring, paving et al. But this is something else.l, have a look.

Black Kadappah Stone in a floral form, modular pattern cutting for outdoor or semi-outdoor flooring. Impressive? We like it.

Black Kadappah Stone in a floral pattern, arranged for outdoor or semi-outdoor flooring, set on a green lawn.

When are we going to agree on one sacred for Kadappah? Earlier it used to be Cudappah and on the picture it is Kadapa! All are the same, in case you write in for inquiry.

Have a look at another picture below.

Black Kadappah stone flooring in a floral modular pattern, reflecting shiny surfaces with surrounding greenery.

An applied form of the Kadappah floral form. As is evident it is a sort semi-outdoor sort of space.

Have an interesting project coming up? Can you imagine your space petalled with Kadappah Stone Flowers?

Jonpur, U.P. | Work in Progress

At a bungalow in Jonpur, U.P.

Have you noticed how these Work-in-Progress views look so satisfying? Don’t they?

It takes some artistry, even if most call these guys just ‘labor’ or low-paid kaarigars.

Arches of Cobbles, let’s call this design.

A partially completed cobblestone pathway in a bungalow garden, featuring intricate circular designs and a puddle reflecting nearby greenery, with stacks of unlaid stones in the foreground.

Is there a project where you have space for such work, such beauty in Indian Natural Stone?

Have you heard of Disposable Beauty?

You may never have heard of that, I guess.

Have you heard of Durable Beauty?

Durable vs Disposable may feel like opposites actually.

Another question, do you put in efforts to maintain what you consider as ‘disposable’? This is a difficult question. Or may entail some mixed answers. But by and large, you would say, why maintain the stuff that is disposable.

Now, the corollary. Do you put in efforts to maintain what you consider as ‘durable’?

We surely put in more efforts to maintain what is expensive, irrespective of whether is durable or disposable.

Durable vs Disposable is a debate for stuff that’s man-made. Stone is not man-made. We shape it. But we do not ‘make’. We slice it, chisel it, given it dimensions, but we do not ‘manufacture’ it.

Stone is eternal. God’s gift.

What is see below are Cudappah Cobbles with a special surface finish using Shot Blasting.

If there is a good expanse of land for landscaping and paving in your project you can create something absolutely and almost, I can say, eternally beautiful! What do you think?

Soffedge Cobbles | Ideal for Paving

Have you experienced machine-cut cobbles? Not just while laying but while walking on them, especially walking barefoot?

These Soffedge Cobbles are an upgraded version, you can say. Demand a special process to assume these soft edges. They’ve got a look, no? And you can experience the  softness of the edges while walking on them too.

Work in Progress | Resort at Udaipur

A view of a resort construction site in Udaipur, showcasing a pathway made with multi-color machine-cut cobbles, surrounded by landscaping and mountains in the background.

Udaipur is the destination for ‘destination wedding’, right?

This picture was clicked last year. A resort project in progress. By now, it would all be over and done I guess.

You can see the laying of multi-color machine-cut cobbles with surface dimension of 5.5″ * 5.5″. Looks pretty even in the unfinished look.

Imagine vitrified tiles used in a city like Udaipur that has such rich architectural heritage. Blasphemy! And yet they are doing it all the over the place, the silly straight-lined aluminium panelled hotels.

At places, you see windows made with the classic royal palace-like window-frames, and then floored with vitrified tiles. Pukish when you realise the kind of minds at work.

Horror!

Paving with Rock-face Black Basalt Cobbles

Paved basalt cobbles create an aesthetically pleasing pathway surrounded by green grass and shrubs.

This picture barely offers any view of the project, and yet these paved basalt cobbles look so pleasing. The reason? Just the space and expanse available for all the natural stone. (You bet vitrified can’t look any good, no matter the space available.)

Natural Stone demands land, demands space. The more the space the more amazing they feel.

Do you have a project which has ample space? We can offer interesting options of natural stone and contribute to your project. Try.

Cobble Paving | Work in Progress

This isn’t in Ahmedabad or Gujarat. We’ve sent these cobbles far away in Lucknow.

Looks like a footpath along a major road. And this patch already looks good though it is not fully paved yet.

Work in Progress | Cobble Stone Pattern

For vitrified tiles (factory created surface element, to put in another way) one can copy natural surface patterns in all sorts of sizes: 2-ft by 2-ft, 4-ft by 2-ft and larger too now. When we say ‘copy’, it is not ‘copying’ like lab-diamonds. It is ‘copying’ only for the purpose of ‘printing’ like one prints on paper or fabric or any other surface. Quite obviously they can’t actually compose natural stone. They can’t make cobbles. THEY CAN’T MAKE NATURE.

They can’t make patterns like these either. You can’t make such patterns and lay vitrified tiles like these. There are no vitrified cobbles. You can’t print cobbles. You can’t print cobble-patterns. Vitrified can’t have the endurance of cobbles either.

Of course, you can use machine-made cement pavers. And that’s another story. Some other day.

Do you have a project where cobbles can play a role, can lend some natural beauty?

We can deliver cobbles to all the cities of Gujarat: Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Mehsana, Jamnagar, Vadodara, Nadiad, Anand, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Amreli, etc.

Paving in Progress

Multi-color cobbles… Work-in-progress at a paving/landscaping project.

If you aren’t looking for such almost-regular cobbles, you can pave with Tumbled Stone. One can say, Tumbled Stone is a different and better-feeling form of flagstone. Great for outdoor paving and landscaping. Have a look.

Grooved Cobble Stones

A pile of cobblestones with 10mm grooves at the edges, surrounded by various stone slabs in a workshop, with two workers visible in the background.

These cobbles have 10mm groove at the edges. These are different from the usual cobble stones we see. And will accord a different look to the landscape.

Over time, natural stone changes and finds its own look, as it interacts with the elements. Would be interesting to observe these.

Square Red Stone and Some Grass Between

Don’t mind the mobile phone camera. If folks understood how lenses work, we would be careful about the limitations of tiny cameras.

That’s Red Natural Stone for you. At a farm house. You can try putting any kind of vitrified tiles, and try growing grass in between, the way you see in the pictures, and you won’t feel a thing. And you won’t get a picture like this.

There’s another point here. You see squares have a special magic in matters of flooring. I feel they look better than rectangles.

But then one who understands that beautiful lack of symmetry looks more beautiful than beautiful symmetry, would not prefer squares. That’s for another post. This red looks ravishing at night with some dim lights around.

Cobblestones (work in progress)

A large pile of dark stone cubes scattered on the ground, surrounded by greenery and trees in a natural outdoor setting.

They are stones, they don’t come packed. But when they are laid, there’s no comparison. Have a look below, clicked at a recent project for a bungalow.

A newly laid cobblestone driveway with a circular pattern, showcasing the intricate design and texture of the stones.

You are not going to get vitrified tiles for such beauty. You may think it’s just a matter of outdoors vs indoors, but it isn’t quite. It’s a matter of patience and sensibilities. It’s a matter of what your sole (you may even say, soul) wants to feel.

Mint White Stone

Welcome to this view of Mint White Stone. There’s no substitute to this. Can’t be created in vitrified tile factories.

These are 50mm thick, no less. Where will you use these? Think. Wherever you do, it may give you great company every time.

Double Color Natural Stone

Got some more of the ever-rich variable double-color natural stone. Not vitrified tiles. In fact, in vitrified tiles you may even have rainbow colored tiles, all same-looking and printed.
